2010 Golden Gate Bonspiel

The San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club celebrated another successful year of curling in California by hosting an open bonspiel over Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, 2010.  This Golden Anniversary Bonspiel was a huge success and was attended by 28 teams.  Fourteen teams traveled from various clubs and locations across North America to join fourteen local teams in the fun and competition. 

 

The Golden Gate Bonspiel sought to provide a uniquely California curling experience. The festivities included a four-event bonspiel, Friday night barbeque, Saturday afternoon winery trip and lunch, Saturday night Mexican fiesta banquet and, of course, our very own San Francisco Midnight Mystery Tour.  Combine this with an enthusiastic organizing committee, some fun team names, great arena facility, wonderful hotel sponsors and 120 new and experienced curlers, we are happy to report that a great time was had by all.  The Golden Gate Bonspiel will now be an annual event.
